    Early days of the Borgias...

Post by Lucrezia Borgia on Mon Jul 04, 2016 10:47 am

:::Lucrezia never needed to want for anything in life for as a child she was overly indulged by her uncle cardinal Rodrigo Borgia. Thus protected from the cruel mouth and whips of her mother Vanoooza and coddled by Cesare. Once this cardinal became Pope life changed for good and bad. For one it was now known fact to her and the rest of the world that he was actually her father and soon Lucrezia was whisked away to luxury in Rome. Pope Borgia would not hide his bastards as others have done and instead he would see to it that all rose to power in some way. Lucrezia couldnt help but delight in all of this sudden wealth and infamy, her innocence in such a place protected largely by the feelings Cesare bore for her, and she was free of her mother s scrutiny. There was only one woman to compete with her but at this time their friendship flourished bc Lucrezia was too nieve to know the truth about the renowned beauty- Giulia Farnese. Rome is seething with animosity toward the Borgias who they call "catalan" bc of their Spanish blood, rival houses swearing he did not obtain his position by moral means, and imposing threats from France to take over some duchys in Italy. For in those days each duchy or state was independent of each other and not united thus resulting in bloody family fueds. Pope Borgia was determined to restore order, peace, and tranquility to all around him but his methods were certainly questionable in the eyes of any good Catholic. So here sets the stage for their entrance....how innocence dies as fast as the swatted fly...it would not be long before I saw life for real but it would take yrs and lives before I learned anything of true value
